For some, brunch is a celebratory meal. But brunches in Qatar have been a beloved weekend trendy thing. Normally, it is a combination of breakfast + lunch, but here it usually begins noon time and only a few restaurants serve actual breakfast meals. Recently, weekend brunches have upped its game, a plenty of fun themed brunches are offered. It’s a good way to bring family or friends together and enjoy quality time on weekends. I seldom go to brunch as I usually spend it at home with family because let’s be honest, Qatar brunch is not that cheap. But I’ll make an exception if it is value of money like Marriott Marquis Doha‘s brunch offer.
The award-winning restaurant New York Steakhouse, offers The Big Apple brunch. It is a sit down à la carte style buffet, wherein one orders unlimited individual dishes and free flowing drinks from the menu. No lining up nor standing up to get food. Just have a seat on their oversized chairs, sip premium drinks, and savour each meal while enjoying the relaxing tunes. Let me show you why this brunch is an exception.

Wide seafood selection
What we ordered
Surf and Turf (Rock lobster, soft poached egg, Hollandaise) - cooked the way I like it. Soft poached and the Hollandaise is spot on!
Lobster Bisque (Lobster medallion, baby corn, chervil) - this soup is rich and full of flavors.
Foie Gras (with pickled mushroom, sauternes jelly, toasted brioche) - this delicacy is so good, every piece on the plate compliments each other.
Seafood for 2 (Fresh oysters, Alaskan king crab leg, Boston lobster, king prawns, cray fish tail, Marie-rose aioli, mignonette, lemon) - The seafood selection are all served fresh and the platter is actually good for 2-4 people.
Seared Scallops (with pea puree, Bresaola) - Scallops are a bit over-seasoned but cooked well. I liked how thin the Bresaola is and crispy.
Angus Short rib and Oyster Pie (Pot roasted Short rib, mashed potato) - The Angus is meaty and juicy.
Lamb Shank Navarin (Glazed root vegetable, roasted potatoes) - The first serving was a bit raw so we requested to recook. When recooked, it was a bit tough. Unfortunately it didn't pass our liking.
During our visit, Beef wellington with oven potatoes were served. It was cool when the Chef came with his trolley to slice it in front of us.
Carved right in front of us.
Beef Wellington is one of the dishes that excites me but unfortunately this didn't. The puff pastry was off, it lacks duxelle (mushroom paste), the fillet was juicy but needs more seasoning.
Oven potatoes with different types of mustard.
NY Steakhouse Classic Chocolate Soufflé
We haven't had the chance to try these but it looks good! My friends recommended mango crepe.
Mango Crepe (Sabayon, creamy mango filling, passion fruit sorbet)
Bourbon Baba (White chocolate ganache)
25 Martinis to choose from..
..mixed right in front of you! 😀
If Martini isn't your drink, there's a selection of Premium alcohol too!
A perfect vibe in an incredible place. For the price, you get beyond what you pay for. Generous servings of high quality ingredients such as Foie Gras, King crab, Lobster, Scallops, etc. and Premium drinks. Not only that, it’s unlimited! Our visit a few months ago was certainly one of the most lavish buffet we have experienced.
QR350 per pax (includes brunch with soft beverages)
